Team Zachary

You may have seen some of these names as you read through the site so here's a chance to get to know the people behind the stories. Here are the regular contributors to TeamZachary.com. Dara May: Zachary’s wife. Dara’s faith, compassion and strength have endured her through the toughest of heart beaks. She is driven to help TeamZachary.com fight lymphoma through her love for Zachary. Her enthusiasm also includes her church community and her participation in the U.S. Army, where she met Zachary. Her dog, Sammy, continues to be a loyal companion.
 

 

Michael May Sr: Zachary’s father. Michael’s many interests include swimming and scuba diving, writing, collecting wine, and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains.

 

 

Ann St. John: Zachary’s step-mother. Ann’s passion for Team Zachary knows few limits. Her sense of humor, combined with her love and sincere dedication, keep her strong in the fight against lymphoma in Zachary’s honor. She does take a break now and again to make time to enjoy family and friends. Ann loves flower gardening, great restaurants, being with friends and building houses for Habitat for Humanity

 

Samson May: Zachary’s older brother. Samson writes for TeamZachary.com from his heart, filled with love for his brother, Zachary. In addition to spending time with his children and Bichon Frise dog, Jerry, Samson is a scuba diver and avid music fan, especially fond of all things Dave Matthews.

 

 

Maryellen May: Zachary’s sister. Maryellen is a well-known videographer in Bloomington, Indiana, capturing lifelong personal stories for families far and wide. Her best story is captured in her own heart and is that of Zachary. Maryellen spends her time with her family and pets, hiking and biking in all seasons, and dancing with a modern dance group.

 

Michael May Jr.: Zachary’s younger brother. In addition to being a regular contributor to TeamZachary.com, Michael enjoys jewelry making and artistic pursuits. He will soon move to Arizona to further his passion for creative arts. As the youngest, Michael had the nickname, “Little Michael”, but as irony would have it, he grew to be 6’ 6” tall.

 

Sue Aquila: Sue is a close family friend and often contributes to the Team Zachary blog. She’s been a part of Team Zachary from the very beginning and spent many nights in Omaha during Zachary’s stay. She can also be found at the Bloomington Bagel Company or out on the road competing in triathlons and marathons all across the country.
